"Other Places," is a site-specific installation of digital photo collages mounted in non-exhibition areas throughout the Museum. Taken from mass media sources, these photographs comment on the transformation of urban spaces. Each photo collage uses image fragments of urban settings in various stages of growth and decay juxtaposed with words like "build," "imagine," or "wish." In the context of the museum and by being presented in non-exhibition locations, such as the elevator, a stairwell, or ceiling, the image/text panels form a dialogue with the architecture. To complement the photographic works, a limited edition artist's book has been created that serves as the map as well as a catalogue for the exhibition. This 4.5 x 4.5 inch forty page booklet serves as a guide for viewers to carry with them when they tour the museum.

In her work Zellen pushes the boundaries of various media. Rather than document the cities she sees, she employ media-generated representations of contemporary and historic cities as raw material for aesthetic and social explorations. Zellen explores architectural spaces as well as digital spaces, making projects that are both site specific and unexpected. The works often mirror the experience of navigating a charged metropolitan area. Through a bombardment of disparate images her pieces celebrate the complexity and unpredictability of urban space. In this work, a walk through the museum becomes a vehicle for a meditation on space, time, and human interaction.
